After the launch of the theme club back in September 2012 and offering PRO themes and top-notch theme support ThemeZee has gained over 2.000 paying theme club members so far. Although the theme club model has worked quite well and ThemeZee has become a healthy business, there were several downsides of the existing subscription model.
Another year has nearly passed and it was a quite successful one for ThemeZee. After improving the support process at the beginning of the year I spent really much time on learning everything about responsive webdesign. The result were the release of eight new ThemeZee WordPress themes with responsive layout in 2013. Finally ThemeZee.com also got a mobile ready design.
Some of you have surely recognized already that ThemeZee got a new design yesterday. I’m very happy that I finally managed to update themezee.com. I was working on the new theme the last few weeks whenever I found some time beyond the daily business.
As you can see it is no radical change in design but only slightly improvements. Therefore I guess nobody gets confused with the new look.
So, let’s take a quick look on the enhancements: Read full article »
It is about a year now since I have introduced the ThemeZee Club and the PRO versions of my themes. Before that, ThemeZee provided only free wordpress themes and earned some money via affiliate marketing for other theme shops. Since users of my free themes asked for more features and theme support regularly I eventually decided to start the Theme Club. Actually there was just to less time to provide theme support and theme development for free.
So far I’m quite happy how the theme club has developed over the past year. I have learned a lot about operating an own online business and have greatly improved my theme development and WordPress skills. It is awesome to see how you are using and customizing my WordPress themes and how many website are powered by them.
Some of you certainly noticed that I’m working very hard at the moment on new responsive themes and I’m very proud to introduce two more themes today. After releasing several business WordPress themes I have created my first two responsive magazine themes the last two weeks.
The big difference between my magazine and business themes is the frontpage template, which is designed in a smooth magazine layout and displays your latest blog posts in various ways. This means the frontpage template comes with an awesome featured post slider, several category post boxes and a latest blog posts section.
This week ThemeZee has released two more business WordPress themes named zeeFocus and zeeVision. While zeeFocus went live on Monday and was approved in the WordPress.org theme directory by Friday, zeeVision was just released yesterday.
Of course both new themes come with responsive layout and look great on any device. Naturally the themes have the proven and established frontpage template with a slideshow, intro text and horizontal widget areas.
After creating two business WordPress themes I was in the mood to design something different. I always wanted to use WordPress post formats in my themes so the decision to create an one column blogging theme with post formats was quick.
The result is zeeLinear, a beautiful theme which is designed to focus on your blog content. Of course the theme is fully responsive and ready to look great on any mobile device. The Featured Posts Slideshow built in the theme allow you to highlight particular posts from one category.
As promised new themes should be released more regularly and the intervals between new themes should be shortened. Therefore I’m proud to announce zeeNoble – the second responsive WordPress theme from ThemeZee only three weeks after the first one.
zeeNoble is designed for business websites (you can use it for normal blogs, too) and comes with an awesome elegant and fully responsive webdesign. The uniqueness of zeeNoble is the powerful frontpage template which supports a big content slideshow to attract visitors.
I was quite busy the last months with creating my first responsive WordPress theme. Before then all my themes had a fixed width and were not a bit adaptive to the browser width. In times of tablets, smartphones and netbooks with thousands of possible screen sizes, releasing layouts with fixed width make little sense anymore.
Therefore it was time to shift to responsive webdesign in order to keep step with modern web development. I have tested and experienced a lot with mobile navigations, CSS media queries and all the other technical stuff required for good responsive webdesign.
This is just a short heads-up for all members which use the twitter widget of the PRO versions of my themes.
The custom twitter widget fetches the data with JSON from twitter using API 1.0. Since Twitter retires the version 1.0 of the API in March 2013, the custom twitter widget won’t work anymore. Read full article »
… and a happy new year.
The year 2012 was a great one for the ThemeZee business. Started as a free wordpress theme provider back in 2010 and with the breakthrough in 2011, this year I mainly worked on the new Premium Themes and the ThemeZee Theme Club with the attached support forum.
It has been some time since I shared my plans to offer a Theme Club including an Support Forum. After a couple of months working on it behind the scenes I am so happy to launch the incredible ThemeZee.com Theme Club today. Beside the Theme Club I have added several other new features and improvements to the ThemeZee website. You will like theme. Promise! Read full article »
