We’ve just rolled out updates to our free block themes, available on our website and on WordPress.org. It was about time for this refresh. These free themes hadn’t been updated since 2023, and we know they deserved some attention.
The updated block themes include:
- Ambitio
- Charta
- Driven
- Lawson
- Smartcube
These updates bring theme.json to version 3 and fix compatibility issues with the latest WordPress Core version in the block editor. As a result, all five themes are now fully compatible with WordPress 7.0.
This isn’t the end of the road, though. We’re already planning further updates, including styling support for new blocks and improvements to the block editor preview so it aligns more closely with the frontend.
